As a Sweet Adelines International chapter, the Coastline Show Chorus has gained an international reputation for exciting, high-energy performances.
In 2002 Coastline performed with 23 other choruses and was awarded Regional First Place Medals, with the highest score ever achieved in the North Atlantic Region One. Coastline then represented Region One at the 2003 International Competition in Phoenix - the first chorus from Rhode Island ever to compete on the International stage!
2002, 2004, 2006, 2008, and 2010 brought Coastline five successive regional championships. In each contest, Coastline set the mark for high scores in the region, giving the chorus the privilege to represent the region at the International Competition. After taking a year off from contest, Coastline competed again in 2013 and once again won the region earning the privilege to compete at the International Competition in Baltimore in November 2014.
The Coastline Show Chorus, formerly the Mount Hope Bay Chorus, was founded by three friends closely involved with barbershop singing. What began as a small group of 11 women in Warren, R.I., has blossomed into a chorus of 60+ members, including women from Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Connecticut, and Maine.
