Our new Director, Debra Lynn, is a lifelong singer, second-generation Barbershopper and Direct-Line Scholar of Garcia-Marchesi Bel Canto singing technique. A Sweet Adelines member since 2012, she has served as International Faculty in Vocal Production since 2020.

A native of New England, Debra’s professional singing career took her from concert hall stages in Europe to becoming principal soprano with the Maui Symphony. In Maui, she founded Maui Civic Light Opera; performed for thousands of convention goers throughout the State of Hawaii; and established her private voice studio in 1997. 

She is author of The Bel Canto Buzz and Sing Easy: The Magic of You, and has been published in The PitchPipe, The Harmonizer and The Keynote periodicals. 

Debra applies her vocal production understanding to the world of barbershop through Chorus and Quartet coaching worldwide, Regional Schools, online events, while maintaining a public presence via DebraLynn.Org, YouTube, her Singers Symposium, and the Debra Lynn Bel Canto App and FaceBook platforms.

Debra is beyond thrilled to be stepping into this new role within Sweet Adelines, bringing together her lifelong musical experience with her love of lifting others to their highest expression and potential!
