Gail Jencik


A native New Yorker, Gail has spent the last 15 years traveling the world as a professional choreographer, visual, and musical coach. Her expertise has taken her to most of the 50 states as well as Canada, Great Britain, Sweden, Scotland, Australia, and New Zealand. Creativity, rhythm and dance for the vocalist and vocal ensembles are her areas of specialty.

A member of the faculty of Sweet Adelines International, her coaching credits include more than a dozen gold medalist chorus and quartet competitors in Sweet Adelines International, The Barbershop Harmony Society, and Harmony, Inc. Gail also occasionally judges Visual Performance for the ICCA (International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella).

She has choreographed several productions for The New York City Gay Mens Chorus concert series. Held at venues including Carnegie Hall and Avery Fisher Hall in New York, the series featured Stockard Channing, Roberta Peters and Rex Reed.

In 1997, when the newly formed Coastline Show Chorus needed a director, Gail stepped off the risers to fill the position. In her first 6 years as director, the chorus grew from 30 to 120 members, while she led the chorus to multiple regional 1st place medals with the highest scores ever received in a North Atlantic Region 1 contest. Having earned her credentials as a Master Director, she went on to direct Coastline at Sweet Adelines International contest to an International 9th place medal in 2003, an International 4th place medal in 2005, 4th place in 2007, 7th place in 2009 and 13th place in 2011.  

Gail's husband, Mike Maino, is a much sought after vocalist and Master of Ceremonies. They reside at the Music Mansion located on the historic East Side of Providence, RI.
